June 2013

Kylee turned one month old this week!  Time is flying!

This month has brought many adjustments as we've all tried getting accustomed to Kylee's needs and wants...and we still can't stop staring and smiling!  It's amazing how much she has changed, how quickly she has already grown up.  We're afraid to blink!

June continued to bring many visitors.  So many people wanted to meet the new addition.  Grandma Boehringer was still in town from Florida so we were fortunate to have her close by if we needed.  Kylee got to spend more time with her Aunt Jamie and Aunt Jennifer while also meeting her cousins Brycen and Jayce.

Visiting with Jodi's sisters and mom was Kylee's first "far" away trip from home with just mom.  For the most part, this trip was a big success...until the drive home.  It was our first realization that Kylee doesn't really like being in the car for more than about 45 minutes.  This will be an interesting year.

Eric's family made visits to see us also this month so Kylee got to begin the adventure of meeting her 3 sets of aunts and uncles and the 19 other cousins on the Kramarczyk side.  Grandma Wyman continued to make visits to see her 20th grandchild and gave mom and dad a night to enjoy dinner alone.  What a treat!

Jodi's dad flew in from Florida in the middle of this month and was here for a week.  Papa Boehringer has been planning much spoiling for his princess and first granddaughter.  It was such a blessing for both of her parents to be here and visit for so long.  We also made a trip to Frankenmuth so Kylee could meet her Great-Grandma Boehringer, what a special opportunity.

In the midst of little sleep, raising a newborn and visiting with family and friends, life has continued on and June has been no exception in terms of busy.  Jodi has been on maternity leave all month and Eric and Kaleb wrapped up the school year which came to an end on June 12.  Kaleb signed up to play little league baseball this spring.  It was his first season playing for East Jackson.  Their team didn't win any games but they sure showed improvement with each game and Kaleb found a sport he enjoys.  He's already practicing for next year.

Eric and Jodi celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary on June 17.  The day was full of excitement - Eric in professional development all day, Jodi at home with a newborn, culminating in a little league baseball game for Kaleb in the evening.  Fun!  We did head up to East Lansing later that week and enjoy a slice of pizza from Georgio's, the same place we ate on the night of our wedding following the reception.

Now it's time to sit back and relax and enjoy the summer.  Eric and Kaleb will have some time off, bonding with Kylee while Jodi heads back to work in July.

So what has Kylee accomplished in her first month of life?  She now weighs 8lbs, 0oz.  She is 21 inches long.  She is very alert, but remains calm and content.  She sleeps wonderfully through the night with two/three quick feedings during a 12 hour span (we're loving it!), she rolled over for the first time at 11 days old, she loves to follow things with her eyes and look out the window, she loves being outside in the fresh air (it's very calming for her), she is starting to grasp for her bottle and toys.  Just wait until the second month!

Happy 4th everyone!  Hope everyone enjoys some much needed time with family this holiday!
